This latest iteration marries the timeless allure of the Fifty Fathoms lineage with a more wearable, compact form factor....

In the illustrious realm of horology, few timepieces command as much reverence and respect as the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Birthed in the mid-1950s as one of the pioneering modern dive watches, its legacy resonates through time, setting the stage for the technical and aesthetic standards of its genre.

In 2003, under the stewardship of the Hayek family, proprietors of the Swatch Group and Blancpain, the Fifty Fathoms resurfaced, marking a triumphant return to prominence. The year 2007 witnessed the emergence of the iconic Fifty Fathoms Automatique, a behemoth encased in a 45mm chassis housing the formidable calibre 1315.

Yet, in the ever-evolving landscape of haute horlogerie, adaptation is paramount. Thus, Blancpain unveils a compelling evolution: the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 42mm Collection. This latest iteration marries the timeless allure of the Fifty Fathoms lineage with a more wearable, compact form factor.

Retaining the quintessential design ethos of the Fifty Fathoms family, albeit in a scaled-down silhouette, these newcomers exude an unmistakable aura of sophistication. Crafted from grade 23 titanium or 18k red gold, each timepiece boasts a fully brushed case, marrying aesthetic appeal with purposeful durability.

The reduction in diameter, now at 42.3mm, and a slender profile of 14.2mm, ensure a comfortable fit on the wrist, without compromising on the iconic presence synonymous with the Fifty Fathoms. The hallmark features endure: a domed sapphire crystal insert crowns the unidirectional rotating bezel, while a 300m water resistance underscores its aquatic prowess.

Dial options abound, with black or blue hues adorning the sunray-brushed surfaces, complemented by luminous Arabic numerals and triangular hour markers, ensuring legibility in any environment. Powered by the venerable calibre 1315, renowned for its robustness and a prodigious 120-hour power reserve.

The discerning aficionado is spoiled for choice with a plethora of strap options, ranging from sail-canvas to NATO and textured rubber, catering to diverse tastes and preferences. For the connoisseur seeking the pinnacle of luxury, the titanium versions are available with a matching bracelet.

The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Automatique 42mm Collection comprises 14 meticulously crafted references.

Prices range from CHF 15,300 to CHF 28,500.
