Swatch Nines to Expand Event Line-up to Include Surfing in 2024

There are no medals, podiums, or world ranking points at stake, just a playground for some of the biggest names in sport. ...

Creativity and the freedom to experiment are at the core of Swatch. There are countless varieties of Swatch pieces allowing every individual to express themselves uniquely. That’s exactly what Swatch Nines does for extreme athletes, and now the event is expanding to include not just snow and mountain biking events, but surfing.

Swatch Nines, originally Knights, Queens, Royals is an unconventional event series which can frankly be summarised as “cool people doing cool s***” while the cameras are rolling. It started as a small regional thing for freestyle skiers that’s evolved into an internationally recognised event that continues to evolve and expand to now include surfing.

There are no medals, podiums, or world ranking points at stake, just a playground for some of the biggest names in sport.

Swatch Nines Surf is heading to Waco Surf, Texas in October. Designed in collaboration with Swatch Proteam athlete and surf legend, Coco Ho, the event promises to be a creative playground that also includes skateboarding.

The original Nines snow event returns in April to the captivating Swiss Alps. Swatch Nines will present a return and refresh of the iconic setup seen in 2016 that saw plenty of action and heart-stopping airtime with 50 ski and snowboard athletes set to take part.

September will see the mountain bike edition of the event appear at a new location, Solden, in the Austrian Alps. Much like the snow event, the mountain bike edition has a custom course designed to both test the athletes and allow them the freedom to do some wild stunts.

The Swatch Nine courses are incredibly unique and challenging, but it isn’t about competing. It’s about these athletes expressing themselves without fear of judgement like hanging out at a skatepark with your mates and letting loose, doing what you feel just for the sake of it.

So keep an eye out for Swatch Nines this April, September, and October.
