Mini has peeled back the curtain on its latest iteration of the beloved Cooper three-door hatch, set to hit Aussie streets between July and September of this year. While it’s not a ground-up overhaul, this Mini makeover still packs a punch, blending the iconic charm of yesteryear with a fresh, electric-inspired flair.

Let’s take a spin through the highlights, shall we?

First off, don’t let the term “facelift” fool you – this isn’t just a nip and tuck affair. Mini’s given the Cooper a hearty makeover, earning it a new internal model code, the F66. It’s got a snazzy new interior, revamped exterior styling inspired by its electric sibling, and enough tweaks to keep enthusiasts grinning from ear to ear.

Under the hood, you’ve got options – a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder in the Cooper C capable of 115kW/230Nm, or for those craving a bit more oomph, a 150kW/300Nm 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder in the Cooper S. Both paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, promising 0-100km/h thrills in 7.7 and 6.6 seconds, respectively.

Mini’s not skimping on the tech either. The cockpit boasts a 9.4-inch circular OLED touchscreen, a head-up display, and even a nifty wireless smartphone charger. Safety-wise, lane-keep assist joins the party alongside autonomous emergency braking, ensuring you’ll feel as secure as you do stylish.

Speaking of style, Mini’s serving up options galore. From three signature LED light designs to a plethora of trim variants, including the classic JCW appearance package, there’s a Cooper for every taste.
