Revving Up Style: Bulgari and Gran Turismo’s High-Octane Collaboration

Bulgari are partnering with the legendary gaming series, Gran Turismo, for a pair of exclusive watches....

PlayStation’s Gran Turismo series has been a trailblazer for over 25 years, revving up the hearts of gamers since its debut in 1997. While impressive, it’s nothing compared to Bulgari’s over a hundred year history, but the two are coming together for a limited edition release, the two Bulgari Aluminium Gran Turismos  debuted at the “Gran Turismo World Series World Final 2023.”

Dating back to 1998, the Bulgari Aluminium collection has been a timekeeping revolution, blending aluminum and rubber in a design inspired by the automotive industry. This new iteration takes cues from the legendary Italian Gran Turismo cars of yesteryear, splashed with a vibrant yellow.

The limited editions, namely the ref. 103893 and ref. 104006, push boundaries. The anthracite dial of the ref. 103893, limited to 1,200 pieces, exudes exclusivity. Meanwhile, the ref. 104006, limited to just 500 pieces, features a yellow dial with black subdials.

While the shapes and chronograph details echo the regular production models, Bulgari leaves no detail untouched. The typeface on the dial is bespoke for this model, showcasing how nuances in coloring and design elements can redefine the essence of a timepiece.

Breaking ground as the first self-winding Aluminium model with a tachymeter scale, these watches align with Gran Turismo’s pursuit of speed. Strangely enough, there’s no Gran Turismo branding on the dial, instead it’s exclusive to the titanium caseback.

At the same time, Bulgari unveiled the Aluminium Vision Gran Turismo concept car, mirroring the design and materials of the limited edition watch. With a body of satin-finished aluminum, carbon technical sections, and black rubber accents, this concept car is a visual spectacle.

The genius behind both the watch and concept car is Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, senior director of the Bulgari Watch Design Center. With a passion for both watches and cars, his designs embody elegance and dynamism. The concept car’s interior, adorned with aluminum, black rubber, and anthracite-colored Alcantara, reflects Stigliani’s commitment to perfection.

Purchasers of the Bulgari Aluminium Gran Turismo Limited Edition get an exclusive perk – the Bulgari Aluminium VGT concept car, available for a test drive in Gran Turismo 7 through a later software update.

These limited editions, priced at $4,800 each, are not just watches; they’re statements. With only 1,200 pieces of the anthracite dial Ref. 103893 and 500 pieces of the yellow dial Ref. 104006, they are set to ignite the passions of watch enthusiasts and gamers alike. The 24-hour limited purchase application starts soon on Bulgari’s official website.
