TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Celebrates 60 Years of Two Icons

Both the TAG Heuer Carrera and the Porsche 911 are celebrating their 60th birthday. ...

Six decades have passed since the unveiling of TAG Heuer’s Carrera and the legendary Porsche 911. These two titans of their respective industries have come together to create a special edition timepiece that pays tribute to their rich legacies.

Back in 1963, Jack Heuer, the great-grandson of TAG Heuer’s founder, introduced the world to the TAG Heuer Carrera. Inspired by the high-octane spirit of the Carrera Panamericana, a grueling rally race across Mexico, Heuer aimed to craft a timepiece tailored for professional drivers and sports car enthusiasts.

Since joining forces in 2021, TAG Heuer and Porsche have given us several collaborative pieces like the 911 Carrera RS 2.7. Now, they’ve joined forces once again to create a truly exceptional timepiece: the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche.

Available in two stunning versions, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche pays homage to the illustrious 60-year history of the Porsche 911.

For Jack Heuer, the TAG Heuer Carrera had to be not just functional but also exquisitely beautiful—the quintessential driving watch. Its design is clean and sophisticated, ensuring that drivers remain focused as they accelerate beyond 100 km/h.

Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer, emphasized, “This watch perfectly encapsulates the essence of the motorsport universe and our partnership with Porsche.” He added, “We have seamlessly merged the heritage of the 911 and the TAG Heuer Carrera, leveraging cutting-edge technology and unique design. It is a testament to our shared values of precision, innovation, and a deep appreciation for our respective histories.”

Red detailing, reminiscent of the 1970s Porsche dashboard, adorns the face. Look closely, and you’ll spot red accents at 6.8 hours, a nod to Porsche’s impressive 6800 RPM.

Under the hood, the Carrera’s signature glassbox has been reimagined. Innovations build upon the curved crystal hesalite designs of the 1970s, introducing a double glassbox feature.

This exclusive timepiece comes with a price tag of $13,350 AUD.
