Revolutionizing the Classic: The Mini eMastered by David Brown Automotive

Even legends need a modern touch. ...

In the realm of iconic automobiles, few names evoke as much nostalgia and admiration as the classic Mini. The original Mini, with its compact charm and timeless design, became an automotive legend. However, in the ever-evolving world of automobiles, even legends need a modern touch. Enter the Mini eMastered by David Brown Automotive – a masterpiece that seamlessly blends the best of the past with the technology of the present.

Before delving into the contemporary marvel that is the Mini Remastered, let’s take a brief trip down memory lane to appreciate the Mini’s storied history. Conceived by Sir Alec Issigonis in the late 1950s, the Mini was a groundbreaking creation. Its transverse engine and front-wheel-drive setup, combined with its compact dimensions, maximized interior space and maneuverability – qualities that still resonate with car enthusiasts today.

In the 21st century, David Brown Automotive set out on a mission to revive the spirit of the classic Mini. Their vision was clear: to pay homage to the original icon while infusing it with modern engineering and luxurious touches. The result? The Mini eMastered.

It features a relatively small 18.8kWh battery, though given the size of the car that’s all it really needs. The company claim that it can do 0-100km/h in 8.5 seconds with a range of 177km (110 miles). Additionally, it’s kept the same weight as the original at just 640kg.

The downside? It’s costs £150,000 (~$287,000 AUD). That’s quite a bit, but what you are paying for is a piece of automotive history insured for the future.
