Casio is a fun brand, particularly if you’re into retro-inspired digital watches. It’s no surprise here that they utilise those strengths by reviving the 80s reference A120 for a Stranger Things collaboration.
Casio watches in the 1980s were like the nerdy brother of Swatch, just look at the wrist calculator. As such, it actually makes a lot of sense to create a Stranger Things tie-in given the proclivities of the characters in that series.

The dial shows off an illustration of the Demogorgon paired with colourful buttons with displayed functions at the top of the dial. It isn’t the most technical or even the most impressive dial, but for what is probably a $150-$200 watch (prices haven’t been released yet), it provides exactly what it promises – lighthearted fun.

That fun is clear with the backlight LED which flickers and blinks as if the Demogorgon was appearing. You’ll also notice an upside down version of the Stranger Things logo appear.
The Upside Down from the show acts as a motif on the A120, the logo was just the most obvious. The strap is semi-transparent resin that takes the red vines on the dial and continues that motif in a muted grey on the strap and on the caseback.

The watch itself has a 33.5mm x 40.7mm rectangle with 9.4mm in height. It only weighs 25g due to the resin case. There’s a chronograph function that can measure 1/10th of a second. Other functions include an alarm and annual calendar that only needs to be adjusted in a leap year. The movement runs for around three years being powered by the CR1616 battery.
The price and release date haven’t been announced yet, but we do know that it will be released sometime in June.
