IWC Introduce Limited Edition Vibrant Pink Strap for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Pilot’s Chrono

To commemorate the upcoming Miami Grand Prix, IWC have released a new pink rubber strap for their collaborative Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41. ...

IWC and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team have been partners for 10 years at this point, giving us many collaborative watches. This next one is essentially a reissue of the previously released Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas but this time with a bright pink strap to commemorate the upcoming Miami Grand Prix.

The titanium reference IW388108 is presented as the team watch, meaning that the whole team from the engineers to the mechanics wear these with the livery-matching teal/green strap. At Miami, they will be wearing this new pink strap version, while pink will feature on the gloves and shoes of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

The pink is meant to evoke the Miami lifestyle particularly the neon adorning the iconic Ocean Drive. If Scarface wore something more understated than a gold Rolex (if you can call pink understated) then maybe this is what he would go for.

Surprisingly, the pink works well with the matte black dial and Petronas green highlights. Keep in mind that this is still the same dial as last year’s, the only difference we’re getting is the new strap.

The calibre 69385 movement is an automatic column-wheel chronograph, a proprietary movement made by Richemont’s Vafleurier facilities. The bi-directional pawl winding system allows for a power reserve of 46-hours.

The new reference in Miami Pink (IW388114) comes equipped with the brand’s integrated EasX-CHANGE system allowing you to switch for the other strap that comes included, the classic Petronas green.

These are available online and at the Miami boutique for a limited time and are priced at $12,400 AUD ($8,350 USD). Keep in mind that the Miami Pink rubber strap will not be available separately.
