Brunch Just Got Better Thanks to Rocker Bondi

Bottomless brunch just got better thanks to Rocker Bondi. Two hours and nothing but the best food and drink, all just five minutes away from the beach. ...

Just up the road from Bondi Beach, not even five minutes away, you can find one of the best places to spend a boozy weekend morning/afternoon, Rocker Bondi. Naturally the vibe is relaxed and very Bondi – trendy without being too pretentious. We had been invited to try their new winter bottomless brunch and initially we thought, “Hey, let’s take it easy and get back to the office at a reasonable time.” Yeah, that didn’t happen…

For $89pp, you get two hours of bottomless mimosas, sparkling, red, white, and rosé throughout. Of course, there’s more to it than just drinks! In fact, the food is absolutely the star of the show here.

The food is all made to share which is what you want. If you’re going for a boozy brunch, you want a bit of the fun of sharing there as well. So, what is there to share? You’ve got burrata, butternut pumpkin hummus, roast free-range porchetta, honey roasted carrots, fried potatoes, Mount Zero olives, sourdough, and a green salad.

That’s the basic menu. From what I tried my favourites were the porchetta which was absolutely divine with a deliciously crunchy crackling. But do you know what was absolutely to die for? Those fried potatoes. They’ve been cooked something like three times if I remember correctly, but whatever it is they’ve done, it’s bloody amazing! Worth the price of admission alone, hands down.

I personally didn’t love the carrots but that’s more me not liking carrots rather the carrots themselves not being good. The same thing can be said of the hummus, but the difference with that is that I heard multiple people around me proclaiming their love for the hummus. I didn’t hear the same for the carrots, so do with that information what you will.

All of the food is fantastic but if you’re feeling a little extra fancy you can add on Sydney rock oysters or even a chocolate fondant for dessert. Not only can you add extra food, but also some extra alcohol including an arrival spritz, frozen margaritas, and an espresso martini. If the drink menu is too wine heavy for you, you can add bottomless beer or margaritas instead.

It’s a fantastic time and we can’t recommend it enough. Bottomless brunch is available Thursday to Sunday.

Watching Food

For this brunch we wanted to wear something a little laid back and cool. It is Bondi after all. So we went with the Tudor Black Bay Chronograph.

This is a fantastic watch, but it isn’t going to turn any heads. It’s understated. It’s quietly confident, just like the wearer feels with it on. It’s perfect for Bondi to show how cool you are without making a whole thing about it. We even paired it with a black fabric strap rather than the huge, chunky leather strap to complete the look.

Maybe we should have gone for a dive watch given our proximity to the beach, but it’s the middle of winter so we went with something a little more fitting.

The piece has a self-winding mechanical movement with bidirectional rotor system Manufacture Calibre MT5813. It has an impressive 70-hour power reserve too.
