What We Do In The Shadows season 4 plot details have been revealed by FX and it looks like fans are in for a treat.
FX’s popular vampire mockumentary is coming back this year and after the cliff-hanger ending of season 3, I cannot wait. The door has been left wide open for our foolhardy vampire clan with Nadja and an unwilling Guillermo off to England to join the Supreme Vampiric Council, Nandor left alone to travel the world and find himself, and Laszlo is caring for a rebirthed baby Colin Robinson.
FX have released a full summary of the plot of season four and it looks like it will tie things up nicely while also leaving room for more plot threads. The entire clan returns to their Staten Island mansion to find it in disrepair and assumed shenanigans will ensue. Check out the summary:
“In the shocking season three finale, Nandor, Guillermo and Nadja left Staten Island to go their separate ways while Laszlo stayed home to care for the creature that clawed its way out of the chest cavity of the deceased Colin Robinson — aka Baby Colin. This season, the vampires return to Staten Island to find their mansion on the verge of total structural collapse — and with no money to repair it. While Nandor’s eternal search for love finally yields results, Nadja finally realizes her dream of opening the hottest vampire nightclub in the Tri-State Area.
“Laszlo struggles with the question of nature versus nurture as he tries raising Baby Colin to be anything other than an energy vampire. And even Guillermo finds himself on a powerful emotional track that touches on his love for his family, and for others.
“With such terrifying locations as the secret supernatural Night Market, the Jersey Pine Barrens and a wedding altar, and with more strange beasts, surprising guest stars and tap dancing than ever, season four of What We Do in the Shadows continues to make the case for blood and comedy. And this time with just a touch of home renovation.”
I have so many questions. Is Nandor’s search for love related to Guillermo as they seemed to hint? Will Nadja break up with Laszlo after his most recent betrayal? Will Guillermo give up on his dream of becoming a vampire? How long will Colin Robinson be a baby? I need answers and I need them now.
I have theories but no answers so who’s ready for some good old conjecture?
My Dumb Theories
Nadja and Laszlo will fight but once she realises why Laszlo left her (to take care of Baby Colin) she may soften on him. But not completely as she will take it a personal slight. That’s why she opens a nightclub, so she can distract herself from Laszlo. OR she opens the nightclub after a disastrous foray in the Supreme Vampiric Council. Maybe it’s both?
Laszlo might learn to be less self-absorbed since he has to take care of a little vampire baby. Most likely this will result in baby related hijinks, ala Three Men And A Baby. He may discover that family, including Nadja, is what is really important to him.
Nandor is said to find love but who is that relating to? Probably a new character rather than Guillermo because if Guillermo is reconnecting with his family, he may finally step away from his dream of being a vampire.
It sounds like this could be one of the last seasons of the show, but it is TV so that probably isn’t the case. Also, the marketing hasn’t suggested that this will be the last season or anything like that but the show is moving forward and character relationships likely won’t remain stagnant.
Season four is set to debut on July 22 on Binge in Australia.
