Ever been curious as to who the biggest players in luxury watchmaking are?  Morgan Stanley and LuxeConsult have the answers.

According to the report, watch export figures published by the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry saw figures reach an all-time high of CHF 22.3 billion. Most of that was just wristwatches, and by most, I mean CHF 21.2 billion of it was due to wristwatches.

The report also shows that the industry has returned to a pre-Covid level of sales. Exports are up 31.2% compared to 2020 and are actually 2.7% higher than 2019. Luxury just didn’t get hit by the pandemic the same way everything else did.

A fun little titbit is that Audemars Piguet has for the first time since the report was first published, overtaken Patek Philippe. AP turned over CHF 1.58 billion in 2020 while Patek Philippe turned over CHF 1.53 billion.
