In celebration of the boxer’s 80th birthday, Champion have teamed up with Don C to create a capsule of boxing inspired clothes.
Don C is an American streetwear designer that has worked with the likes of Nike and LVMH’s Rémy Martin, so he has some chops. And we all know who Champion are, especially given their recent rise back into the limelight.
Together they have created a capsule that is a real celebration of Ali, and all have a faintly 60s/70s vibe to them, especially as it pertains to colour choice.
To celebrate Muhammed Ali’s 80th birthday all the items in the capsule include some sort of influence from boxing. For example, there are classic boxing shorts that feature Ali’s iconic phrase, “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.”
You’ve also got things like a velvet boxing hoodie, a cashmere blend sweater inspired by Andy Warhol’s own portrait of the fighter, velveteen trackies, and a plaited jersey t-shirt.
Most interesting of all though has to be the satin cornerman’s jacket that is based on a custom robe given to Ali by Elvis Presley in the 70s.

John Shumate, Champion VP of brand marketing, said of the collection,
“As the blueprint of the Be Your Own Champion spirit, Ali’s athleticism, activism, confidence and dominance in the ring made him one of the most iconic people in the country. Decades later, Ali’s influence still resonates as he is credited by some of today’s biggest athletes for defining swag, style and what it truly means to be a Champion and the Greatest Of All Time.”

The collection will be available on January 17 via selected retailers and on their website. Prices will range from $250 to $550.
