Nicki Minaj has had her fair share of controversial moments in her career but those are nothing when compared to what her husband has done.
Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, has been a very naughty boy indeed and yet she continues to defend him. Petty was convicted of the first-degree attempted rape of Jennifer Hough in 1995 for which he served four years in prison for. Not only this but he was charged with manslaughter for his involvement in the shooting death of Lamont Robinson and served an additional seven years in prison.
That’s all quite bad enough, but it is Petty’s 1995 attempted rape case that has everyone talking again.
Jennifer Hough has since filed a harassment lawsuit against Minaj and her husband. Hough claims that Minaj, Petty, and their lawyers haven been attempting to push her towards rescinding her accusations of attempted rape. Hough says she has been repeatedly intimidated and intentionally inflicting emotional distress.
So what Minaj’s legal team has done in response has been to ask the court to sanction Bough for what they call blatant falsehoods. Minaj thinks that Hough is just after a payday from her.
They do have evidence to be fair. According to TMZ, Minaj’s legal team claim that there are a few inconsistencies within Hough’s account of things. The big one is that Hough said she had to change her phone number due to the harassment she was receiving from Minaj. The other is that Minaj’s legal team contacted Hough’s brother with a $500K offer if Hough would recant her accusations.
So, the phone thing, according to Minaj’s legal team, Hough actually texted Minaj after claiming she needed to change her number and move in order to stop them contacting Hough. So… checkmate?
That $500k offer? Hough said in the lawsuit that she believed Minaj was behind it, but during an interview Hough said that somebody reached out to her brother to offer $500K is she talked to Petty’s lawyers. Minaj believes she was targeted in the suit instead of petty because Hough is after money.
We’re also sure this has nothing to do with Petty failing to register as a sex offender when he moved to California for which he was arrested and released on $20,000 bond. Despite that incident, he still didn’t register and turned himself into the authorities before he was arrested and was released on a $100,000 bond.
Hough is adamant about her position and even issued a letter to the presiding judge to request Petty’s plea deal be thrown out. The letter reads,
Nicki Minaj has done this sort of thing before. Two years ago, Minaj’s brother was sentenced to 25 to life for predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child. Her brother was accused of treating his 11-year-old stepdaughter as an “indentured sex object,” attacking her up to four times a week.
Pretty bad, right? Well Nicki defended her brother by writing a letter to the judge saying that her brother is “the most patient, gentle, genuine, giving, selfless man… who came to my mother’s rescue often when she endured domestic violence so that she and I could sleep peacefully at night.”
She seemed to believe that he didn’t do it as her letter stated, “rethink punishing him for something he did not do.”
Seems Nicki doesn’t have the best judge of character where the men in her life are concerned, but that’s just an outsider looking in’s perspective.
What do you think? Who’s guilty? The convicted attempted rapist and his famous wife or the victim allegedly after a pay day?
