The Sex and the City revival series is set to premiere on Dec. 9 with weekly episodes until Feb. 3, 2022.

Well, everyone has been waiting patiently for this and it’s finally almost here! But it’s a little bit different this time.

Everyone is coming back except for Kim Cattrall who played Samantha. That will certainly be upsetting to some but what can we do? The reason is apparently a little bit of drama behind the scenes with some sources saying that Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) don’t get along. That probably isn’t the case though.

Cattrall has said in an interview with Piers Morgan whether she would ever return to the role way back in 2017 that,

“Me playing [Samantha], that I can assure you will never happen… This isn’t about more money. This is not about more scenes. It’s not about any of those things. This is about a clear decision, an empowered decision in my life to end one chapter and start another. I’m 61. It’s now.”

And before you ask, no, the producers are not replacing Samantha with either another actress or another character. How could they even pull that off?

What’s the show actually about? The description reads, “And Just Like That… follows Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.”

So fear not Sex and the City fans, it looks like the show is likely going to grow with the characters instead of rehashing the same old gag.

Are you excited? Or is this going to flop harder than that time Carrie fell on the runway?
