One of the biggest names to ever grace Formula 1, Ayrton Senna, is being celebrated by one of motorsport’s oldest partners, TAG Heuer.

Ayrton Senna was already one of the brightest up and coming stars but by 1991, he did something that would guarantee his place in the history books.

On November 3rd, 1991, on a rain drenched Adelaide track, Senna managed to become the youngest ever three-time world champion at 31.

This is what TAG Heuer are celebrating as it has now been 30 years since that historic moment in Formula 1.

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Senna Special Edition is a 43mm quartz watch encased in black DLC steel. Black compliments the yellow highlights as well as serving as a reference to Senna’s signature colours. Other little references include the iconic ‘S’ link pattern that sits on the bezel atop 12 o’clock as well as appearing on the subdial at 6 o’clock.

In case you were confused as to who this watch was celebrating you only have to flip it over. The caseback has an engraved version of Senna’s iconic helmet along with the words, ‘Senna Special Edition.’

This watch looks like it means business. Personally, I don’t love the yellow and black colour scheme but that is purely personal taste. I can see this being quite popular and it doesn’t look bad at all, it just isn’t my favourite. It looks like real effort was put into this watch as TAG Heuer definitely did not want to drop the ball when celebrating one of the most iconic drivers in F1 history.

This watch retails for $3,350 and is available on TAG Heuer’s website.
