As of Friday, Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, reached a net worth of $230 billion USD.

The tech superstar managed to do this by adding over $60 billion USD to his name this year alone. This was largely due to a large surge in Tesla’s stock price and a recent share sale for SpaceX.

This isn’t the first time Musk has achieved the title of ‘Richest Man in the World’ as he unseated Jeff Bezos back in January but that turned out to be short-lived. Bezos currently is in second place with $195 billion.

Bill Gates sits in fourth place with $130 billion USD, while Warren Buffett is in 10th with $102 billion USD, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Both men have been the richest man at some point in their lives but due to substantial philanthropic donations, their personal wealth has slipped.
