The new Apple TV+ series just dropped a new trailer, and it looks very interesting indeed.
Will Ferrell hasn’t been around in the same way he was in the 2000s, but it looks like he’s making a comeback with his former Anchorman co-star, Paul Rudd.
The new dramedy series, The Shrink Next Door, is inspired by the true story of Dr. Isaac Herschkopf, played by Rudd, who spent decades manipulating and exploiting his long-time patient, Martin Markowitz, played by Ferrell.
Not only are the two starring in the series, they are also executive producers according to Variety.
It looks like a far more mature role than usual for Ferrell who has been given a character that, by the very nature of the story, has great emotional depths. Whether or not he can pull it off remains to be seen but it will certainly get people curious.
That’s not to say the show will be without laughs, far from it as there are comedic elements present in the trailer. It will simply be a balancing act between comedy and drama. How can they not have at least some comedy in the show, Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell are in it!
The series will premiere on Apple TV+ on November 12.
