BRABUS are back at it again with another ridiculous custom job in their “1 of 25” collection, the BRABUS 900 Rocket Edition Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S, the world’s fastest SUV.
BRABUS have always pushed the absolute limit of what their cars can do. They’re ridiculously fast and outrageous to look at. Their design is often aggressive yet stylish and that is no different with the BRABUS 900.
They’ve spared no expense on the design of the 900 and have refitted many parts in order to gain as much performance from the car as possible. There’s a newly developed chin spoiler that greatly reduces front axle lift at high speeds and improves handling. On the rear you’ll find quad tailpipes that appear within a full-carbon diffuser in combination with carbon trim for the side air outlets and a carbon rear spoiler. All of this is wrapped up in BRABUS’ “Superior Gray” paintwork. It’s all unmistakably BRABUS.
In terms of performance, can it really be doubted that this thing goes fast. Very fast. The 4.5 litre twin turbo BRABUS 900 ROCKET V8 engine fitted with high performance turbochargers delivers 662 kW/900hp. The 1,250Nm of torque are transmitted via a nine-speed automatic transmission. Through this, the car can reach 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds and according to BRABUS, with the right tyre/wheel combination, the electronic speed limiter only cuts in at 330km/h. 330km/h for an SUV!
All this might be loud but that’s part of the BRABUS experience. If you put the car in sports mode, you’ll experience the entire roar of the V8 engine, but if you need some quiet, the “Coming Home” mode will turn that roar into a whisper at the touch of a button.
The 24-inch BRABUS Monoblock “Platinum Edition” Z high-tech forged wheels are the tyres BRABUS put on the car when you want it to look good but if you want to hit those high speeds, you’ll need a different configuration. The top speed is only achievable using the 23-inch BRABUS Monoblock Y “Platinum Edition” forged wheels and Continental high-performance tyres.
The interior is all luxury too with grey leather design detailed by skilled artisans complete with crest-shaped quilting, trim elements, and footwells – all of which are upholstered with the finest leather.
In other BRABUS news, they’ve just dropped a new watch in partnership with Panerai.
