The transfer market has almost reached its deadline on August 31 but one of the biggest transfers has occurred just before the finish line… Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a two-year deal with Manchester United.

There were rumours that Ronaldo was in talks to play for Manchester City, which ruffled more than a few feathers, with some fans going so far as to call Ronaldo a traitor. But it seems that we rumours weren’t true but misheard as Ronaldo has signed a €15 million deal with Manchester United. The deal also has a potential for an added €8 million in add-ons.

Ronaldo left a $117 million USD, four-year deal with Juventus one year early and has expressed that he is unlikely to return to the Italian club.

Manchester United have welcomed him with open arms, “Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Cristiano back to Manchester.”

This will be the first time Ronaldo will have played for the English club since 2006.
