No one seems pleased that OnlyFans is banning sexually explicit content, their main source of revenue. In response, rapper, Tyga, is deleting his OnlyFans account and creating “Myystar.”
Tyga took to Instagram to announce his plans, “Just deleted my Onlyfans, starting my own platform @myystar8 more futuristic, better quality & only 10% fee. Creators will also be able to make content of their choice!”
Set for launch in October, the aim of Myystar is to provide a service with more creative freedom and fewer fees. Myystar will only take 10% of a creator’s earnings which is just half of OnlyFans’ 20% fee. One cool little addition is the ability to “sell NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, as well as features relevant to the music industry.”
“I know how many people make a lot of money on OnlyFans, and that’s where most of their revenue is at. I want to give those people hope,” Tyga told Forbes.
Not only will there be sexually explicit content available but will also house podcasters, comedians, athletes, and musicians.
To bring this project together, Tyga is working with Ryder Ripps, a conceptual artist, programmer, and creative director who worked on the branding for Travis Scott’s “Cactus Jack” and Kanye West’s creative agency “Donda.” So, this seems like it really is going to happen and might actually deliver on the services promised.
Anyone interested in signing up can apply for an invite on Myystar’s website.
