It seems that actors suing is in vogue once again as Bam Margera, one of the original cast members of the Jackass franchise, was fired from the fourth film after allegedly testing positive for Adderall. This would usually be no big deal, but it violated the terms of a ‘wellness agreement’ he signed with the producers of Jackass.
This wellness agreement was put into place after Margera’s many stints in and out of rehab. The agreement, according to the suit, meant that Margera had to undergo regular drug and alcohol tests, as well as a prescription medication regime.
According to Margera, he was coerced into signing it in 2019 whilst in rehab. Knoxville, Jonze, and Jeffrey Tremaine said that if he didn’t sign it, he wouldn’t be a part of the Jackass Forever. Margera’s suit also claims that he had to sign the agreement without the presence or advice of an attorney.
The main argument of the suit is that Margera was fired for the presence of Adderall despite Margera having taken the drug as a prescription for 10 years. The suit goes so far as to compare Margera’s treatment to that of Britney Spears in her ongoing conservatorship case, alleging that he has been victimised as a result of his mental health.
