Jay Z is one of the most successful rappers in the world. Hell, he might be one of the most successful people, period. His success means that he can have a substantial and impressive watch collection…
Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime, Ref. 6300G
This wristwatch is the most complicated Patek Philippe have ever created. It has 20 complications and costs a cool $2.2 million USD. Jay Z has been spotted wearing this at P. Diddy’s 50th birthday party. Only six of these were made and it isn’t really that shocking to find out that Jay Z has one considering his billionaire status.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra-Thin Tribute to 1931 Pink Gold, ref. 2782521
The Reverso’s are easily one of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most iconic watches. There are only two variants of the ultra-thin in either steel or pink gold. Jay Z has been spotted wearing the pink gold variant. This is a beautiful and elegant watch that I’m not surprised Jay Z owns. Then again, that could be said about any luxury timepiece.
Richard Mille 56 Customised ‘Blueprint’
This $2.5 million watch used to be incredibly unique with a case made entirely from sapphire. Hublot have since done the same with their Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire and variants. They have even taken it further with a watch whose bracelet is also made from sapphire. But that shouldn’t take away from the achievement that is this Richard Mille piece. The nickname ‘blueprint’ is a nice touch that definitely had a lot of thought put into it in honour of Jay Z’s iconic The Blueprint album.
Rolex Datejust Perpetual Calendar (One of One Rolex) by Franck Muller
This is a one-of-a-kind watch that is reported to have been personally modified by watchmaker, Franck Muller. What makes it unique from other Datejusts is the addition of a moon phase and perpetual calendar complication. No other Datejust has been built with these two complications.
How Jay Z managed to get his hands on this watch is actually quite banal. Watch customizer Alex Todd posted it on his Instagram and shortly thereafter we saw Jay Z sporting it.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Carbon
It should be no surprise to Jay Z fans that he owns this watch. He pops references to it often in his songs. It’s a powerful watch. A statement. But I’ve never personally been a fan of the Royal Oak collection. However, I do recognise when something is great but just isn’t for me, and this is it.
Shawn Carter by Hublot Classic Fusion Black Ceramic
This is a collaboration from Jay Z and Hublot introduced in 2013. So of course, Jay Z has one, that’s a no brainer.
The watch is based on the Classic Fusion design. The Shawn Carter logo has been cut out of the dial which now exposes some of the movement beneath. There are two versions, ceramic and yellow gold. There are only 250 ceramic variants and 100 yellow gold variants.
