LeBron James is one of the best basketball players around today. His versatility and powerful strength combined with his unique stature allows him to be the most dominant players in game and is constantly in the “GOAT” debate. This versatility also extends off the court into his wardrobe. He has a unique style that many could learn from. So, if you want to snatch some style tips and add some LeBron styles into your wardrobe, you’ll be pleased to know that it can be quite simple.
LeBron loves a good hat. Baseball caps, fedoras, beanies, you name it. This style works very well for men with very short hair as you don’t have to worry about things like hat hair. When searching for a hat, find something that suits your own personality. Do you enjoy sports and the outdoors? Try a baseball cap. There are thousands of styles to try and all you have to do is find the one that sits right on your head and you’re good to go. Don’t just get one hat though, make sure you get multiple hats in different colours in order to mix and match them with different outfits. If that doesn’t interest you, get at least one black baseball cap as it will go with a large variety of outfits.
If you want to go a little more fashion with it, LeBron loves himself a wide brim hat. This might be a little more difficult to pull off but if you’re feeling courageous it can really send your look to the next level. To avoid looking like a middle-aged tourist in Venezuela, steer clear of straw panama hats unless you are going for a specific yacht riding, retiree look.Otherwise, seek felt or wool hats. Mix and match colours to match your own personal style and be sure to try it on and be confident. Don’t let the hat wear you!
For beginners, there are cheaper felt hats you can buy from outlets like Uniqlo and Cotton On for around $40 – $50 AUD. Many surf shops also have a huge selection of wide-brim hats from a variety of brands, think places like City Beach. Will & Bear have beautiful Australian-made wool hats priced at around $120 if you feel like spending a little more money on your new look.
If you want baseball caps, they can be found in almost every shop at almost any price. Ralph Lauren/Polohave a brilliant range of caps, and there are many varieties of sports brand caps available at outlets like Rebel and Culture Kings.
Denim is a staple for anyone in modern society. But you shouldn’tjust wear your $50 jeans from Target and call it a day. No, there are a variety of ways you can wear denim, but it’s the denim jacket that has become a staple in LeBron’s wardrobe. You can go for a traditional collar for your denim jacket which will make it wearable with almost any outfit or you can go for a Sherpa collar. It’s up to you. When wearing a denim jacket, LeBron tends to wear a lot of grey, white and earthy tones. Try a pair of chinos paired with a white t-shirt to give you a standard every day look with your new denim jacket.
Denim shirts are also an option for an awesome autumn look. Denim shirts can be worn in the same way you would a pair of jeans. Bit of advice, avoid wearing the same tone of denim pants as your shirt. Think of it as simply a blue shirt but with some texture that gives your looks some variety. You can also layer the shirt with a t-shirt underneath, giving you even more options for customisation.
For cheaper denim jackets, visit outlets like ASOS, Uniqlo, and Cotton On. They have a variety of denim jackets ranging from $60 – $90. These won’t have the best possible fits for everyman, but they are a good place to get started. If you are looking to spend more money, outlets like General Pants, Universal, The Iconic and Culture Kings have heaps of denim jackets priced around $120 – $250. Brands to keep a lookout for are Levi’s, Ksubi, Tommy Hilfiger and Jack & Jones.
While this may seem obvious given LeBron’s many sponsorships with Nike but there are still things we can learn from how LeBron wears his sneakers. Everyone owns at least one pair of sneakers but let’s throw out the New Balances and get a new pair of stylish sneakers.
LeBron obviously favours Nike’s shoes, and they have a wide range of great looking sneakers to choose from. If you can’t get multiple pairs, a good white pair of sneakers can go with almost anything. If you want to switch things up, go for high-top sneakers. LeBron wears Air Jordan’s for his high-top look. When wearing high-tops, LeBron tucks his pants into his shoes. This can work with both loose-fitting pants as well as tighter pants.
If you want to buy multiple pairs, then go for colours that stand out from the crowd, like red or blue. If you don’t want a red shoe, go for an interesting design that has accents of colour on it. Vintage sneakers are also coming back in a big way if that’s more your style.
Nike shoes are availableat their own outlets or from The Iconic, Platypus, and Rebel. Those stores have a large selection of sneakers to fit anyone’s personal taste. StockX is a site where the rarest of sneakers are traded at auction if you feel like really getting into the sneaker game. Looking like LeBron means sticking with Nike. But If you’re after different styles, brands like Adidas, Reebok, Lacoste, and Tommy Hilfiger are great choices. These are all comfortable and stylish. A modernman doesn’t have to sacrifice one for the other.
